Well, I dont like to hold grudges so I forgive easily, but it takes me a VEEERY long time to forget...that's IF I forget, taht is. In my case, it's easier for me to "forget (meaning I won't bring the situation up again) if the person apologizes. But if they don't apologize I'll eventually forgive them, but I can't forget about it so I bring it up from time to time. I think for me receiving an "I'm sorry" is what gives me closure from the situation. And yes, I do treat the person a little differently (especially if they haven't apologized).

I can forgive but I never forget and I do hold grudges .Just like you I try not to but I can't help it.I guess it's because I consider myself to be a trustworthy friend, someone who would never back stab you or talk about you behind your back,I'm an honest friend with a lot of respect towards people in general and I don't think it's fair sometimes that others don't know when they have crossed the line or basically just don't know when to keep their mouths closed and end up saying something offensive or rude towards me or about me.Once things like this happens I usually keep my distance and try not to associate myself too much with the person

Sometimes, we really need to be extremely careful with what we say and do towards people. Sometimes, I do hold grudges against someone who has said or done something that was really insulting and hurtful, but I will NEVER forget. Usually, its not a big deal to me, because I know that person didn't mean it. One time, my boyfriend and I were talking about the projects; my boyfriend used to live in the projects when he was growing up. Since my 10-year-old will be attending middle school next year, there's another middle school that's located across the street from the projects. Since my boyfriend wanted to take me there, and I told him no, he hung up the phone on me. Five minutes later, he calls me back saying that I insulted and offended him, and hung up on again. I called him back to apologize and I deeply regret saying that to him. I was being honest about it, but I guess being honest has its consequences. My boyfriend loves me very much, but now, I have to be really careful with what I say and do towards others.

Jesus said in the bible...
Love your neighbor,
try as hard as you can to forgive and forget holding a grudge is a sin.
If you cant see past what the person has done (whether they deserve to be shot out of your life) then God wont be able to forgive you when YOU make a mistake.

What a difficult question to answer. Can you forgive and forget a person who deceived or borke your heart or to forgive a person who has been doing wrong. If one can do so, he is bestowed with God's greatest virtue. I wonder no one can forget the incident, although he has forgiven someone in his life.

I always forgive but if the person does it again then the next time I will forget you. No-one should make you feel uncomfortable and make you angry and if you continue to get negative energy from the person who says crazy things to you to hit a nerve then thats your Q, to ROLL OUT and leave them for the BLAST of the PAST~

As much as ever one says that they can forgive and forget. They are all fooling themselves! You can forgive, to a point. But you cant forget! (unless you have magical powers) You will always treat those people different...
Don't listen to those bible people! Jusus didn't forgive or forget!

if you love the person, you would want to forgive them. and forget it so they won't feel bad or think you are saying your better than them. real friends are always there and won't make you fill bad. i did something really bad that i thought would make my friend leave me and hate me, but she ended up forgiveing me and teeling me how it made her feel and that it hurt her. i told her i was sorry and were still cool. if some one says something rude to you don't leave them, that is when they probaly need you the most. unless your friends always makes you feel bad then maybe you should talk to her/him or find new friends!!! i hope this works.
