When I woke up this morning my daughter says to me "Mommy, it looks like you have pizza sauce in your eye." Actually what I have is a spot of blood about the size of a pencil eraser in my eye. It's, thankfully, located just below the iris in a way that it's only noticeable if I look up. Does anyone know what this is or how to get rid of it?

It depends on what it is. If it is a Subconjunctival Hemorrhage or broken blood vessel, it will go away in a week or 2. If it is a Hemangioma, or a grouping of irregular blood vessels, it probably won't go away. Either case, there is nothing seriously wrong with your eye, it just looks different.

Sounds like a burst blood vessel. It should go away on its own in a few days time. If not, see a doctor.
