A better question would be if there were a modern day woman prophet? Yes there was - Ellen G White, do a search on her. Her writings include "The great controversy", still seen by many as one of the best books ever written on prophesy, and "The Desire of Ages", a brilliant book on the life of Jesus.

The amazing thing about EGW is that she was the only "modern day" prophet which had all the prophetic characteristics mentioned in the bible.

Look her up, quite interresting.

Sure.

A woman who has received a testimony of Jesus and enjoys the spirit of revelation. A prophetess does not hold the priesthood or its keys. Though only a few women in the scriptures are called prophetesses, many prophesied, such as Rebekah, Hannah, Elisabeth, and Mary.
Miriam was called a prophetess, Ex. 15: 20. Deborah was called a prophetess, Judg. 4: 4. Huldah was called a prophetess, 2 Kgs. 22: 14 (2 Chr. 34: 22). Anna was called a prophetess, Luke 2: 36.

at the beginning this the answer to this question relies upon on fairly some components no longer blanketed on your question. What do you categorise as a prophet? A preacher, a bringer of teachings, a individual appointed specially by skill of a greater physically powerful power, a manifestation of that greater power, or in easy terms individual who records the classes and vevents of a faith? The term "prophet" could be assigned to fairly some human beings under very various standards looking on way of life and era and so on. Secondly, which faith/faith and so on are you asking approximately? in easy terms with this particular guidance are you able to get a particular answer. without this particular guidance i will in easy terms say that interior the distinctive definitions of the word prophet and the distinctive faiths that exist, there have certainly been lady prophets among them.

I wish beta_fish would stop trying to recruit to his Mormon cult on this site using his LDS (Latter Day Saints) tactics.

Watch out for these Mormons....they preach like they are sharing the same Gospel as Biblical Christians, but they are not.

Their true belief system lies in a series of books (Book of Mormon, Journal of Discourses, etc) written by Joseph Smith, Brigham Young and other false prophets who teach that God was once a man even though the bible cleary states he was not.

They also believe that there is a 3 layer heaven, the most high called "Celestial Heaven" and that your first wife (it is Mormon doctrine to have multiple wives, regardless of their attempt to change it due to US laws) becomes your wife in Heaven and is forever pregnant, giving birth to "Sprit Babies" to populate their "VERY OWN PLANET". Yes boys and girs, Mormons believe that you are given your own planet when you work your way up to Godhood!!!

They also believe that Jesus and Lucifer are brothers and that the Book of Mormon was translated by an ancient Indian language on golden tablets that were coincidentally dug up by Joseph Smith who had an obsession with buried treasure.

Mormons may be very nice, but they are teaching blasphemy.

Yes, I think Joyce Meyer considers herself a prophetess. If you're talking about the Biblical prophets, I'm sure there was.

Are you implying something about women being or not being biblical prophets?

Yes, there were several. One in particular was named Anna. She, along with a man named Simeon were among those to whom it was promised they would "see the Lord's salvation" before they died.
