this did not happen, and will not happen, I am not cruel, I'm just curious. Would it die, or get drunk?

Just like people they get drunk. And just like people, if they drink too much, they will get alcohol poisoning and may die.

I had a pitcher full of beer on the ground once and my dog, without me knowing, was drinking it. By the time I caught him, I guessed he must have drank an entire beer, maybe more. He seemed fine, was a little hyper and eventually threw up. It didn't seem as though he was drunk, but I would suspect that it would eventually have the same effect on animals as it does on humans since alcohol goes into your bloodstream and effects the brain. Though my dog didn't have many blood cells to begine with.

Just like people (and most will agree that when drunk enough, people *are* animals) they get drunk. Most animals will not drink enough to get alcohol poisoning. It happens in the wild all the time. There was a National Geographic documentary that covered animals eating partially fermented fruit after it hit the ground...the animals (antelope, monkeys, zebras, girraffes, etc) were all staggering drunk...it was very amusing.

They would get drunk too and probably make a mess throwing up as well just like humans and if they drank way too much could die as well just like humans.

If the animal could keep the alcohol down, and not throw up it would resemble a drunk human, weaving to and fro and not being able to keep its balance. Usually however, they throw up and sleep off the effects.

Just like for humans each individual will react differently!
I knew a woman who had a cat that loved beer! My dad's dog also drank beer and never got sick!

it would take less for it to get drunk... if you`re talking about pets... an elephant could drink you under the table.. it`s all body size/mass... i had a friend who claimed his ferret would drink beer with him.... he would set bottle caps full of beer down and the ferret would drink it and then just kinda sit there look around...

I used to work on a race track, and we used to give one horse beer and soda. I think he liked the fizzz, If you let him he would take the bottle from you and tip it himself NO lie it was the funniest thing to see, his lips would get all foamyLOL

depends on the volume and what it was. My dog usually gets a few laps of beer and she's fine....now, don't think I'd want to pour her shots of patron!

our dog drank some spilled beer once by accident and she got sick.. threw up ALOT but she got better we learned the hard way
