Call the County seat you were born in and find out their requirements, which probably are:

Send them a photocopy of your picture ID
Send them a money order for $5 to $10 for processing fees
Send them the name and birthdate, and your parents names

This is what I had to do to get my daughter's California birth certificate, anyways.

If unsure what county you were born in, look up the city on the web and call them and ask what county they're in.

go to google and type in birth certicates in california..
if you know what county you were born in you write to the county hall of records
if you dont know their is a statewide database that holds all california live births and adoptions.. all this is on google
