I would have to say yes. I have several items, some of which I never used or used only once. I try to be better about spending money, but sometimes, it is easy to get sucked into the idea of an easier way to clean your bathroom or dice vegetables.

Working in the electronics and computer industry I receive many catalogues advertisiing allsorts of gadgets, I just wonder who buys all this stuff. Those who do buy it are clearly overpaid and have nothing better to do with their money.

What's "waste". If you buy something and enjoy using it for a while that's not waste. If you buy something and never use it, that is. Gadgets are like adult toys. How much is the enjoyment they give worth?

I bought an electric food grater for $9 on eBay and tried it once.
It works just as well as you might think it would, badly.
The person I bought it from bought it used on eBay.
I think this device was made for buying and selling. Not using!
I'm putting the darn thing up for sale on eBay.

Of course, I think it is a law of the universe that you have to have a certain number of unused gadgets.
