Depression can be debilitating to some degree or another, and, if it's serious enough, it can lead to suicide. Other problems stemming from depression include not doing well at work, or being unable to hold a job down, not making or keeping friends, and weight gain or loss, both of which can be dangerous for your health. Considering all the mind/body health connections they see nowadays, I'm sure there are other dangers, such as depression leading to serious illness.

Even mild depression, the sort where you can still actually live your life and look almost normal but still feel like sh!t, really sucks and you should get help for that. Therapy's lovely and sometimes you just need the drugs, but you shouldn't have to live with the world being perpetually gray.

It can be dangerous if the person does not receive any help and/or has poor support system. Many people with severe depression tend to be more suicidal which is what makes depression dangerous

Yes, it's an illness that can be very serious and very dangerous if it is not treated. People who are depressed are at an increased risk of committing suicide and of doing behaviors that are unsafe like drinking too much, using drugs, etc.

Some people are able to live with depression, these are usually the people who are getting treatment in the form of counseling and sometimes medication.

It can be if left untreated, that is going to a therapist and getting on an anti-depressant, if necessary. Depression distorts everything into negative thoughts and no hope for the future, when there actually is a lot of hope and things to do in life.

if left unchecked it can worsen and cause suicidal thoughts and actions. it takes your life away because u don't care what happens anymore. the worse it gets the less u care and u get tunnel vision. u cant see things ever changing and your family can do nothing but sit helplessly be and watch as the person they love changes into nothing.
