How would you feel if the person that wanted to adopt your baby had a criminal record? It was for drug charges in 97 and they served 6 years (parole ends in 2009). They are clean now and own their business and make good money; have a house, truck..etc.

Now that I have a few answers, I will add more details.
The person I am speaking of is my husband; whom by the way is a great man. Just made stupid mistakes when he was younger. We have been married 8 years together 9 and can't have children of our own. I had a full hysteretomy May of 2005. We have a great marriage and he has come so far; I believe in him and he is great with our little cousins, whom spend the night quite often.

it really depends on if the person has healed. Some can recover very well and be great ro models. Others fall back into old habits. But if this is a person you know and trust well, then I would say great. If you are just picking out of a book, then I would suggest looking for someone else. It really is a personal decision though. Depending on the circumstance, I would put alot of thought into it. Keep in mind at the same time, that alot of people that have had a past are great people.

which will be counted upon the birthparents. The adoptive moms and dads and them would have see eye to eye on alot of themes to ascertain that it to exercising consultation to be a delightful courting. if it really is the case then i imagine an open adoption is a mind-blowing ingredient. a toddler under no circumstances may have too a lot love!

Depends on the drug and how old if they were young and they learned there way and if you feel comfortable with who they are. If not stay clear and find someone else plenty of good people looking for children, I know I have adopted. Good Luck

The courts probably won't aprove it, and even if they did approve it I still wouldn't take the chance. I mean everybody should get a second chance if they make a mistake like that... and they may have cleaned up their act but I still wouldn't give them the oppurtunity to raise my child. If I were you I would be looking for a different family. goodluck.

Absolutely not, no way, no how. Are you looking to adopt or are you putting your baby up for adoption? I know it's none of my business, but I ask b/c my husband and I want to adopt very soon. We want our son/daughter (i'm pregnant) to have a sibling.

I don't believe any court in the world would allow that adoption to take place.
