Todays tattoos don't really scar, they don't go deep at all. When I got my fiirst at 17 (1982), thatt guy went way deep and the tattoo is kinda "raised" but no problem....

Yes, there's a chance, but tattoo techniques, safety, and hygeine have improved over the years.

The hip can and most likely will expand as you grow older, so keep that in mind. There are very few places on the body that won't be altered over time, but I certainly wouldn't recommend anything on the core (torso).

Bottom line: Do a LOT of homework. Ask a lot of people where they went, and how their experience was. Find out who the best tattoo artists are locally, and maybe even look up who has the best health/inspection records. Visit a few places first to compare. Do they wear gloves every time? Do they use new needles AND new ink for each tattoo? Do they dispose of needles properly? Do you get a good impression of the place? If you don't feel so safe that you would take an infant there, don't use that place, find another.

Good luck to you.

Some tattoo are really bad. The chemical they use is harmful to the body. There was a question in yahoo! answers today about the skin problems notice on having tattoo that too after 4 or 5 year. I have also heard the cells affected by tattoos become cancerous and people get kind cancer and other diseases. Why invite trouble unnecessarily.

Have you talked to a Dr as to why you scar very easily? I would think your Dr and your tattoo artist would be the 2 people to talk to about this.

actually they say that tattoo-ing on a scar is easier... because the skin is softer. but its a little hard to get the consistancy of a good looking tatoo. so be careful who you have do your tattoo. make sure its somebody good and not joe blows tattoo shop.. (i learned the tattoo-ing on a scar thing just the other night from LA Ink..) good luck!
