I dunno about sea fishing but can't imagine that it would be a problem. Crail is a gorgeous little place but it's not exactly a buzzing metropolis. Enjoying the sea air, walking/cycling (check out the Fife coastal path), birdwatching, having some fresh fish and chips -Anstruther has a great place - and maybe having a quiet couple of drinks at the pub are what I'd suggest. You can also explore the other little villages in the area or head off to St. Andrews or maybe Kirkcaldy if you need a bit more excitement. Edinburgh is also within reach if you prefer a real city.

I've been there a few times. the east neuk of Fife. Well,, fishing yes, I assume you mean sea fishing, September now but still mild there is probably a shoal or two of Mackerel still around. Also codling are pretty good, if you buy the sea angler at your newsagent they have a national fish watch, i.e. what is being caught and where. Crail has got a nice little harbour, if I were you I would as the local lobster fishermen to perhaps take you out in their boats for a small fee, you'll have better luck further from the shore. Bait would be rag worm or lug worm fro the beaches, cockles if any around, or slices of mackerel caught previously for the codling, feathers for the mackerel if they are still around. Crail has a decent go kart track, although it's for club type use, but you could have a nosey, it's at the old airfield. One thing worth checking out nearby is the cold war underground nuclear bunker, a previously secret facility in case of war in the 50's 60's

Crail is a slow place with a lot of really old buildings.
Very quaint.
You can fish around the harbour - try using herring as bait.
It's close to St.Andrews which has plenty night-life (student town).
Nearby Anstruther has the best fish and chips anywhere.
Crail is, as I say, a sleepy place and not much goes on.
Do go to the harbour though and look out across the sea.
You'll always find someone painting or drawing there.
In the Summer it looks Mediterranean.
It ain't Summer but you might be lucky and have a mild day.
Enjoy.

p.s. Take no notice of the idiot who wrote first.
This site is full of sad people like that.
Just another idiot.
