Don't know about a web-site, but Bournemouth in Hampshire has a lovely sandy beach; so does Camber Sands in Sussex. Eastbourne has some sand when the tide is right out, but you would still have to cross the pebbles and shingle (Ouch!) Brighton is all pebble and shingle.

I wouldn't have thought there was one for the south-east. Not many nice beaches there.

not sure about the website - but i highly recommend Westgate and Westbay in Kent. There isn't much to do there, but there are pubs and cafes, and Margate is in easy reach (long walk, short car journey).
