why refridgerate after opening

Because if they're "real" bacon bits, bacon is full of fat is has some natural preservative attributes at low (fridge) temps. Room-temp bacon will get rancid.

If it says to refrigerate it means that they did not put in any preservatives so that after opening and being exposed to the air they must now be refrigerated until used up.

before you open them they are vacuum sealed, and can stay at room temperature, after opening, the seal is broken and you have to refrigerate them to slow down the growth of harmful bacteria

you mean the real ones? because they were vacuumed packed and kept out the oxygen which would play a part of the spoilage.

because they say to... naw jk, because its cooked and u cant leave food like bacon out, it has to stay closed and refrigerated to reserve its freshness and taste....
