I myself had this esure device put in and it was the biggest mistake of my life!! I guess I was the first one with complications. The device moved in my body which made horrible pain. At first the doctors thought nothing of it, after a month went by finally they did tests on me. One of the devices moved and placed itself in my utreus, the other one cut through one of my tubes. Turns out the only way to get them out was to have a hystorectomy! So from what happened to me I don't recomend it to anyone. It also turns out that I was the first person that this happened too. I too thought the no down time sounded great and the no more birth control idea was great. It just didn't work for me. So for my 25th birthday they gave my a hystorectomy and a lot of confusion and regret. When I saw your question I just had to respond. Because I know the doctors do say there is some risks but I don't think they actually say that this has had problems. And you end up thinking that it won't happen to you. But it can, and it does and I am proof!

I took depo for 1 yr 12 yrs ago and now have an 11 yr old daughter. You do the math.
I got my tubes tied and they actually went through my belly button and cut the pieces apart. They are no longer connected. I have been "fixed" for 5 years. The down time was only the afternoon that I had it done. It is an outpatient thing.

Good luck.
