It's more of an instinct thing... You must try to look out for the infant's needs -- hunger, hygiene, entertainment, and last but not least, you should spend time talking to the infant. Even if he or she doesn't understand all your words, it makes a big difference as a matter of communication.

Find LOTS of websites for 'infant care', etc. Books are good. However all the knowledge in the world will NOT help if you don't have LOVE and good instincts for children. It's true majority of women are born with it - there's a reason for that. Ask God. Be there at EVERY given moment!!

If you need to be asking this question, maybe you should be talking to people who work with infants in a hospital or day care center. You should be observing them before you actually do it on your own.
Are you thinking of running a day care? If you are most states require a license and training for this. Many community colleges have Early Childhood Certificate programs.Check them out.

you can get info from alot of books or ask friend or family for advice. If you don'y have anyone then call your local health department they can send a health nurse, who will be more than willing to come and give you some advice and let you know what you are doing right.
