Sure, I believe there is such a thing. Some people do confess on their deathbeds and repent there. Or at least that's what I've been told & read. I've never seen it myself, though.

Not so much, repentance is a process, and while I can see that working for some of the little things, I think a lot of repentance takes more time than that.

It is certainly possible to believe that Christ is the Son of God right at the end of one's life.
Remember that faith is given by God. It is a real thing, distinguished from just saying you believe in order to try to get yourself out of jam. If God has planted the Truth in a human being's soul, it doesn't matter whether a person comes to know Truth at the age of 24 and lives until he is 85 or a person comes to know Truth at the age of 85 and dies a few days later.
Truth is Truth. If you know it, you know it.
If you say you do and you really don't, God knows your heart and will judge accordingly, as his justice is perfect.
The length of time that one knows Christ while one is alive is irrelevant. God is outside of time, and so what means something to us--i.e., time--is irrelevant to God. It is the heart that is relevant to God. No one can fool God as to what their heart knows.
Is it "no fair" if you believe for 61 years and another believes for 61 minutes? Not at all. Knowledge of God's Truth brings joy, and so arguably the one who was "robbed" on earth is the one who knew for 61 minutes.

Do I believe in it? My 91 year old father said "Yes" to Jesus Christ four days before he died. After a lifetime of mocking all the things of God.
After he passed away, I knew He was with the Lord. It is one of the most beautiful things that has ever happened to me, that my Dad was saved by the grace of God. I had been praying for him for ten years.
Oh yes, yes yes, I believe.

Yes---that too is a gift from God. He really does not take joy in anyone's destruction.

Depend on whether or not you think God watches your whole game... or just checks the box scores at the end.
