Honey is good for everything - it is the only natural food that never goes off. Mixed with hot water and lemon juice it is excellent for sore throats as it is a natural antiseptic. It is wonderful poured over yogurt, porridge, on hot toast or on bread and butter. Go to http://www.honey.com for masses of information including recipes etc.

Yes it has got loads of calories. Here are 2 things I use it for.

1) Mix a teaspoon of honey with a pot of Greek yogurt. Delicious

2) 2 tablespoons of honey mixed with 2 tablespoons of wholegrain mustard. Drizzle over some good quality pork sausages and bake in the oven for 35-40Min's. I'm having these tonight with mashed potato and peas.

Enjoy!

It is pure sugar, so the calorie content is rather high, but it is better for you because it is not refined.
You can use it in baking and as a replacement for sugar in virtually any situation, but it also has incredible medicinal properties. There is a recipe for a sore throat remedy below, but honey can be placed over non-serious burns, cuts and grazes to aid healing and to seal the wound - preventing infection.

1 table spoon honey
1 teaspoon vinegar
juice of one lemon
combine in a mug, and top up with water.
(you could always add a little brandy!)

You can mix equal parts honey and butter and spread it on toast or muffins. And I prefer honey in my tea to sugar.

Honey has loads of vitamins and antioxidants in it. There are 64 calories per 1 tablespoon serving.

Honey is good for seasonal allergies!! If you suffer from seasonal allergies then find some local honey (so that is has pollen in it from the plants in your area, or it may not work for you) and have a little each day...in some tea, or in some oatmeal, or however you would like it!!

Honey has about the same number of calories as granulated sugar.

It is great in yogurt, tea, sauces, and baklava.
