The Merchant Navy carry goods,and commodities (cargo),in a similar way to the lorries and juggernauts of the motorways,on land. The Royal Navy is part of our armed forces, and they are there to defend us, on the high seas.

"Social Science Lady" says that the Royal Navy is there to defend us on the high seas. How I wish that she was right. After nearly ten years of Tony Blair and his New Labour government there is very little of our navy left.
