Prescription diet pills are useful for severe obesity problems. These pills are regulated and their side effects are monitored. Some of these pills are Meridia (Sibutramine), Xenical (Orlistat), Adipex, Bontril, Didrex, Phentermine and Tenuate. Xenical is a lipase inhibitor, decreasing fat absorption by 30% resulting in a lower calorie intake. These pills will not be effective for losing weight , if a conventional weight loss plan is also not followed. Over the counter (OTC) diet pills are considered as food supplements, and their use is unregulated. However, these are very popular and people continue to use them without considering the adverse side effects. More information available at http://www.toloseweight.org/weightlosspill.html

yes, none really provide long term results, just ask your doctor, they work to raise your metabolism and curve hunger but as soon as you stop taking them, and you cannot take them forever.. they do a reverse take on your metabolsim, and dramaticly slow it down and you typically gain more weight then what you loss. Did no one watch this on cnn the other night? They is NO MAGIC pill, it actually just takes work, like it took work to put the weight on, for example, getting in your car ordering a big mac and eating it, that took work, just like it takes work to get up, exercise and diet. Try this method if you want to dramaticly loose weight quickly, depending on how fat you are already though. Put on about 3 layers of clothes, do cardio for at least 45 minutes. Because it takes 20 to even get into fat burning mode, The more you sweat the more you lose, After youve kept an active sweat for 30 minutes, then switch to toning for another 30. Keep your calorie intake to no more than 1200 a day and no soda, no juice, just vitamins and water also green tea is great if you have the caffeine addiction. at least 7 times a week for a few weeks then you can knock it down to 4 times a week, keep the calories extra low. Just please dont take those pills, people dont realize the long term danger. This was my method of exercise after my second child and im back to my 125 lbs and it only took me 4 weeks to lose the 40 extra i had gained. You must then exercise at least 3 times a week to keep it off, diet pills are not good for the heart and teach you nothing. Good luck

I'm sorry but the world seems to be stuck in naive mode there are no magic pills that will help you lose weight. that is a gimmick and a waste of money. the only way to honestly lose weight is a well balanced diet exercise and lots of clear liquids. to help burn extra carbs grapefruit juice does this well. have a glass a day will work wonders.

Listen, Oprah once said if there was a pill, I could and would have bought it (richest woman in the world!)

all of the experts say the same thing want a great looking body . eat healthy and excercise properly

starving oneself or taking diet pills leads to possible dieases and heart problems and even death
