I just think you should enjoy whatever beer you like, but sacrifice desert, or a fatty appetizer... you know... just cut out something from your meal, and replace that with the carbs in the beer.

A while back Consumer Reports found very little difference between light or regular beer. In fact, they found some light beers had more calories than regular beers. I don't know how much beer you drink, but that is the key, rather than the brand. On another note, dark beer, like Sam Adams for example, is high in antioxidants, which are processed out to give beer a lighter taste and color. I'm 70yrs old, retired. I work out twice a week on a Bow flex, and several times a week on a Nordic Track. I take my dog for 3 or 4 mile walks several times a week. I drink 1or 2 bottles of beer a day, with an occasional hard liquor drink during the week I don't really diet but control my intake. A better way, since once you go off your diet, you usually end up right where you started. My blood pressure is 106 over 65. Cholesterol is good. I am 5'8" tall and have maintained a weight of 165 to170 lbs over the last 30 yrs. So you see activity and exercise not also play a part in your weight, but in your health and well being.
