I sent my membership application to the Cherokee Nation, does anyone know how long it takes to hear back from them?

Hey FemBot,

Have you seen this web site. There are others, included at the bottom. You should make a phone call to someone at one of the membership locations. I suspect that they have to correlate your application to your Genealogy with the Tribe. That will take some time, and if you have not provided enough information, or they do not have a 'link' to your information, they may never answer you.

I guess that depends on how busy they are with applications. If you take the 'squeeky wheel' approach, and keep asking, you should at least get a response that says what they are doing, or that you do not qualify, or that they think you qualify but they need ...what ever they need...

Look through these sites and make some phone calls.

Note the last site says:
"TRIBAL MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS

AT THIS TIME, WE ARE NOT ACCEPTING ANY NEW MEMBERSHIP APPLICATIONS.

OUR TRIBAL ROLLS ARE CLOSED INDEFINITELY DUE TO UPDATING OF TRIBAL RECORDS.

AN ANNOUNCEMENT WILL BE MADE ON THIS SITE WHEN THE ROLLS ARE REOPENED. "
