It is the tragic waste of what happened there.

It is a very sad event you have read about. You are a sensitive person and emphatic to others. What you are have read is very depressing and it will depress anyone. What you need to find from this terrible act is to look within yourself and understand that being mean to anyone is not really the way to help anyone. You need to realize that you have to rise above the terrible acts in the world, fight to have your mind set of a positive attitude and spread your deep felt feelings to others. Don't get depressed but get mad that some humans beings love to degrade others and take a look around in your own life and fight against this tyranny. Theses things happen do to many reasons and you can not stop them. But you can help stop the every day put downs of people who demonstrate a ill will to the less fortunate and the, what is considered, different people in this world. So shed your tears and then do something positive with your life and be aware that little minded people like these kids were, will not effect you negatively as they might have wanted. But to effect you in a positive way to help others within your reach to find the good in all of us. Good Luck ... It is up to you...

It's normal to feel depressed after hearing of some tragic, awful event. It shows you are a caring and sensitive person. I think the best thing you could do to get past those feelings would be to try to not dwell on the story of what happened. Just say a prayer and let it go .. let go and let God. I know it's hard to do sometimes, but we are very overloaded with news and the details get more graphic (Irresponsible journalism here) so protect yourself emotionally and stay away from reading or listening to news that just goes on and on over something. It's not good for us to subject ourselves to it. Instead, read something good and uplifting and find an activity you enjoy doing. I hope this helps. Blessings!

You need to balance this awful stuff with something good. There are lots of reports of good events in the world and very heroic people. Its down to getting things in proportion. The world is not all bad. There are probably more good things which happen everyday than bad but they don't sell headlines. Make up your mind to do something for society-something good that will help people. Helping others helps us also as it puts life in perspective. Maybe visit hospital patients or help out in homeless shelters or animal shelters. If you keep very busy doing good work then you wont dwell on this so much and you will also be happier, knowing that you are contributing something good to the world.

I remember being home at lunchtime from work and seeing it on the news. I remember the shock and horror. I can understand why you would be upset and depressed.

Are you a Christian? If so, then perhaps you know something about what the bible says about things going on all around us? It tells us that things will "wax worse and worse" on this earth, until the coming of Christ. So what we see happening all around us is really just a fulfilling of these prophecies. The bible says because inequity abounds, the love of many will grow cold. There will be things like this happening more and more. That's why you have to know that this world is not our home, and that God never intended for all these horrible things to happen.

Jesus will return one day, all things will be made right. I hope you know this is true, and that you know Him as your savior.

Do something to empower yourself. Read an inspirational book. Talk to someone you love. Take up martial arts. Work out. Write a letter to those who did what they did and explain why it was so wrong of them. I find letter writing helps when I have been intensely affected by an event

When certain things sadden you you should try and stay away from seeing them. I have the same issue but for some reason I want to keep reading or watching, it's kinda disturbing to me. I'm a very emotional person that has a lot to do with it. I seem to empathize way to much with things.
Good luck

It is sad because there are many people who choose evil over good.....but it is also hopeful, because it shows that most of us are the other way......and we must go on, and stand up for what is good in this world, so the evil will not take over.

I have these same feelings at times. IT's as if you hurt for someone or something that really has nothing to do with you, and you beat yourself up because you think you should not be feeling this way, you think it should not affect you. Let me share what comforts me and helps me understand how this is possible.

"Praise be to the God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have recieved from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into over lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows. If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort" 2 Corinthians 1:3-7

Your spirit feels their suffering. This is not abnormal, it's just our pea-sized brains do not know how to handel this. You share their suffering so that you share with them your comfort. You have a gift of compassion from God. This is a good thing that you are in tune with that feeling because that is the Holy Spirit. I would reccommend you pray to God that since you share their suffering that he bless both you and them alike with your suffering, with his compassion. This simply means someone is still grieving over this incident, maybe it's an anniversery of something, or someone's birthday who was killed I don't know. But you are grieving inside with someone that was affect by that event.

Believe if you want, that's just my take, and I would reccommend you read that passage over and over out loud until it speaks to you.

Your feelings are normal, they will pass in time. The best thing to do is have a good laugh. Watch a funny movie or tv show.

try not to dwell on the negative aspects as this only compounds the problem. think on the good things that have happened since then. we all need to learn and this was a definite learning experience.
