Yes, words can not truly express some of the horror of my childhood. It toke me a long time to finally understand I am not responsible for my parents behavior. The best advise I can give is to try and keep the contact between your friends and your parents to a minimum. (Spend time at your Friends house or have thier parents drive you places) Don't worry about the adults reactions. Hopefully they should have enough life experience and compassion to try and shield you from embarrassment or at the least do damage control. You can explain the situation to a best friend or close relative that can help you deal with unavoidable situations as they come up. Good luck

Of course, when I was a child. Parents are not without mistakes, when you realize you must learn from mistakes, thenyou will no longer be unforgiving of your parents. You are not your parents!

My dad used to go to ball games (High School, Little League, etc.) and shout at the referees from the bleachers. I HATED that.
