You can save by eating less, you can save by not buying that extra thing you don't need, you can save by placing your money in a bank so you can't go get it as fast then you can say no not today I won't spend that Money, you can save by buying your clothes at nice thrift stores, you can save by reselling all your old clothes, you can save by using coupons, you can save by not drinking beer or partying, or smoking, you can save by going for a nice walk in the park. Simply start with a set amount out of every paycheck, a minimum of 10%, and have it direct deposited into a savings account. When you aquire enough to put it into a CD or something, put it where it will earn more interest, and leave it there, don't touch it.

Bring your lunch to work. Cook breakfast and dinners yourself. Make your own coffee. Shop for clothing at the "end" of each season for the next one (especially for young children). Don't impulse buy- every cent counts. Drive a car for at least 10 years and stay on top of the maintenance. Go to the dollar theater for entertainment and sneak your own candy in.

If you live by yourself try cooking for several days at once. As in, making one meal and eating it for two or three days. That way you're only cooking a couple times a week and you're still using the food instead of throwing it out.
