I would find out your new address here in America and have the big things and the heavy things shipped there by mail. Ship them overnight before you leave or have a friend ship them to you overnight once you leave if you want to be there for their arrival. Airports charge if you have too much luggage or luggage over 50 lbs so it will be the same price without having to carry it or drag it along with you.

I moved from America to Taiwan and looked into all kinds of shipping options. The cheapest for me was regular postal service, ground (boat) service. It took almost 8 weeks to get my stuff, but cost about $40 for each 30lb box of books.

I've had the same questions. I'm moving from America to Italy and I love my books and can't do with out them. But, its a year before I go so I haven't researched it thoroughly yet but I do know that FedEx is very expensive. I guess what I'm going to try to do is just take as many books with me as I can on the plane...lol, I don't know how much they allow but that's something I'll have to find out.

girl...u can pack your books in a carton(cardboard box) and have it sealed..... number of books determine your number of boxes.... u dont have to carry da boxes on your heads.. do u?? then y worry... let the airport staff handle the boxes...

send it by post or by ship. Sending it by post is the cheapest way.
