Everyday is more effective. Change the ab exercises that you do to work different quadrants and angle of the abs.....Don't use the same routine every day....
If you are looking for a visible 6 or 8 pack, you will also need to decrease your body fat. That will require dieting as well.........

Do a harder ab workout, every other day; give them time to repair. Also, you need cardio or you won't see the 6 pack. Do 30 minutes of cardio before breakfast every day. If you are consistent, no problem.

I've heard that abs are the only muscle group that you can work every day . All the other muscles benefit from having a day off or two to recover. But abs don't need that, they can be worked every day.

Every other day. On the days you're not training your abs, do cardio work. Your abs are there, they just have some layers of fat covering them. I know people that do 200 sit ups a day and still don't have the six pack. Under those layers they probably have great looking abs...just can't see them. You have to do the cardio work...running, swimming, aerobics, etc...
Hope that helps

You can actually rotate the abdominal muscle groups. One day you focus on the obliques, low abs the next, upper abs the next transversabdominal after that. Doing abs for me is the warm-up for my workout, so I like to do them every day. Rotating the muscle groups allows me to do that and still let the muscles rest and grow. Good luck.

Try every other day. Muscles need to relax too. With a right diet, you'll get your 6 pack in a short time.

Whenever you do any type of resistance training that works your muscles, you always need to give your muscles a day or so of rest in order to repair. Muscles develop by being stretched and put under pressure and they grow through the repair process when cells are rejuvinated in the area. You need to have at least one day of rest between strength/muscle training sessions in order to allow the muscles to heal. Otherwise, you will risk damage to the muscle tissue and fatigue.

Abs are just like any other muscle group and after a workout, they need time to rest and repair.

abs actually dont need too much time. if u give them 10 mins a day its more than enough. too much will damage the muscles and it will take more time to get a 6 pack.
every day but less time in a day.
