my friends lately- we started dating over a month ago, he lives out of state, so it is hard to get together and go out to a dinner with a group of my friends-do you think it is coz he wants "proof" that i am exclusively exclusive with him? i've spoken to 2 of his close buddies-any thoughts? some of my friends are not so keen only coz they don't want to cause any misunderstandings b/w us, the classic, "he said, she said" scenario-Mike and I were good friends prior to us dating..things just seem a little more guarded now-since we started dating-

by the way, i don't have issues to refer some of my friends to talk to him, ie, i'm not hiding anything...it just seems that one of my friends seems a bit on the spot-beats me, perhaps it's the new yorker attitude-lol

Perhaps he just wants to meet your friends because he cares about you so much, he would like to meet the people that you consider friends. He probably isn't trying to get any proof, he just wants to be accepted by the ones you love enough to call your friends. I am not sure why your friends think that by being introduced and speaking to your bf will cause misunderstandings, are you hiding anything?

Best Wishes!

Some people put a lot of stake in meeting friends for a number of reasons.

First off who you have as friends is a reflection on you and who you are so he learns more about you by meeting your friends.

Secondly he might want to see that you have female friends because there is a reason why a girl doesn't have female friends (if she doesn't) and it usually mean she is so bitchy she can't even get along with other girls and bond with them. That is a definite warning sign.

I think one month is way too early to be seriously pushing for this though. Maybe he wants to hook up a buddy of his with a date and wants to see if your friends are dating material.

since you mentioned that you were friends before dating, did he do this with any previous girlfriends? you really should just communicate your feelings to him and you should get him to understand you. i wouldnt look too deep into his actions unless it occurs more and more after you have a heart to heart with him. it's all about trust and communication.
