Where can I find out which area of the RAF my Grandfather served in in WW2? Is there a general list of men where I can look for his name ? I would love to be able to share our family history wih my children but have no idea where to start looking. Thanks !

RAF Cranwell is RAF HQ so they would have info on all personnel past and present.

you can get the number/address to write to by going into the forces careers office

You write to the Commanding Officer of the Unit he served last when he retired from service. You can find this from his Discharge documents. The concerned CO will either tell you or will refer you to the correct agency where you can get all your info.

Contact RAF Brize Norton and find out who keeps the records, it would probably be good if you roughly knew where he was based first??
