I bought 2 puppies at age 7 weeks they had there 1st shots before i brought them home. One came down with parvo just 2 days before he was due his second shot. I took him to vet and we couldn't save him he died this past sunday. I got his brother 2nd shot the day he died and now 5 days later this puppy got sick. He has been sick since tuesday and is in pet hospital. He has been given no fluids (not needed them yet and is eatting some). Still throwing up alittle and some loose stool. I went to visit him this morning and he wangged his tail and licked me. He doesn't look as sick as his brother did. The vet said its still early to tell...but all i have on my mind is this puppy. I thought (silly me) that my puppies would be ok since i brought them home with there 1st shot and now i am hoping and praying that maybe he will have only a mind case since he has 2 shots. Does anyone think he has a better chance of living than his brother did. Please pray for my little Turbo.he is a min chawa.

I will pray for Turbo usually parvo is very bad and it lives in the ground for 7 years unless that has changed. I raise Akitas and have 3 that are 6 mo. old if Turbo seems to be getting better, then yes you may have cought it in time. I have a ? for you did you buy these pups from a breeder? if so they should give you replacement pups and or your money back. I would. please keep me posted with the status of Turbo. May God make him well I believe God will help turbo. I will ask that god does so in Jesus name for you and dear Turbo. Does your vet seem to think he is getting better? give it a week and see where he is at. but if there

The Parvo is everywhere! If you want to get rid of it you need to scrub every inch of your house and yard with bleach or Virkon, that is the only thing that will kill the virus. Your puppy will only be suffering if you don't get the treatment and will end up dying. If you can"t afford it then put the puppy to sleep, it sounds bad but he is suffering! I have seen what Parvo can do and how fast it can spread to other animals if not taken care of. No rescue or sheter will take that pup.

If the person you bought thee pups off of gave them a shot they bought at an animal feed store or something like that, those ARE NOT guaranteed.

If your pup is eating and drinking on its own, that is a very good sign he will be ok, but is he getting enough vitamins. Ask your vet about a vitamin supplement for dogs. The one I am familiar with comes in a tube (like toothpaste) and you put a dab in there mouth and they gradually get it down.

Also, is your pup up and moving? If not, help him do so. Get him out and make him put a little weight on his legs, try to make him walk to you. Do range of motion on his legs. If your vet will not let you do this, I would change vets. My vet says this is very important exercise and that interaction with the owner is also important while pups are sick.

If your pup is on alot of antibiotics, that can cause the loose stool also. The antibiotics kill the natural bacteria our bodies make. A home remedy my vet taught me for this is "live yogurt", feed them just about a tablespoon of this twice a day, just for a day or 2. The live yougurt helps the bacteria come back.

yes he has a chance of surviving since the anti bodies are there. You know you did a good thing getting those shots that was important and you might have saved the puppys life doing that. Just dont obess about it cause he may not make it. But probably will due to the shots. Leave him in the pet hospital and pray about it . I will be praying for you. Good luck to you and Turbo.

My puppy got parvo when she was about 8 weeks old and we put her in the pet hospital. 3 days later we brought her home safe and sound. we did keep her out of the back yard for a few months. She is still doing great though!!!

he has a much better chance, as he had shots before he got really sick. However, Parvo is extremely contagious, and at such a young age, his chances are still slim.

please get your pets from the Humane Society in the future - they do full check ups and shots before they send them home to you - they also usually know if an animal has been exposed to Parvo, and won't adopt it out if there is a question.

You really need to Clorox the space they were in if they live in the house..anywhere the one that died stayed, the other one can get parvo from there if you don't.
