my daughter used to grab her hair at the temples and pull it out whenever she would cry. she pulled the hair because she was stressed and crying, but that was painful, so she cried even more... it was a terrible cycle. i finally cut the hair very low and as she got older she stopped. but your toddler may be acting out because of stress or seeking attention. her communication skills are limited, so she resorts to this behavior. try to provide a firm schedule so that she can feel comfortable with her daily routine. give her lots of reassurance and let her talk to her mommy as much as possible. if it does not stop she may need to speak to a professional who can help her find other ways to express herself. art is a great tool for children. provide her with an area to play and draw. make sure all caregivers are using the same methods of discipline so that she knows what to expect. good luck.

Does she have OCD? (obsessive compulsive Disorder) my sister has done this in the past, but it was her eyebrows when she was little and some other areas later on as she got older. When she tries to pull her hair, reorient her by giving her something to do, or do something with her. Talk to her doctor about it and ask if he thinks there's something going on/something you can do for her.

because it amuses her, just tell once or twice this is a bad thing, then leave her along. The more attention you give to the misdeeds, the more they'll do it. It's just a phase, it'll pass.

young children find inventive ways to deal with anxiety and stress. She is likely responding to separation from her mother. As she matures this behaviour will likely stop.
