Kittens always seem to get dirty. Clean the wax with a cotton ball and warm water. My kitten always seemed to produce this but as he got older it stopped.

If your cat has ever had ear mites in the past, it takes awhile for the excess wax produced by the mites to leave the ear canal. It could also just be that your cat produces alot of ear wax. A cleaning solution such as Otirinse may help. Just put some of the liquid in the ear canal, work it around for a couple of seconds and tissue off with a kleenex. Never use alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, or q-tips in your cats ear. These may cause tissue damage to a sensitive cat ear. If the problem persists, take your cat to a different vet. My cat had a yeast infection is his ear that was missed by my old vet. Just like people, animals deserve a second opinion too.

The dark brown wax is their ear wax. Ours is yellow and theirs is dark brown. He just has dirty ears. You can get ear cleaner from the vet and if you have any questions on how to clean the ears ask the vet to do a demo.

He just has dirty ears. I've had 2 cats like that. I clean with gauze and a dab of mineral oil (plain not baby) every couple of weeks.
