I always ending up eating really late, usually between 8.30pm and 9.30pm. Is that bad?

It's not just dinner if you're posh. Southerners all call it dinner - I'm not posh and I do. When I was living with Northern Monkeys at uni we always got confused because I say lunch and dinner and they said dinner and tea.

Anyway, normally about 7-8 (in front of Eastenders). Shhhh... don't tell anyone, I might lose my guru status!

Tea is normally taken about 3pm and dinner sometime in the early evening. Supper being taken around 9 or 10pm.

Well that's how it used to be.

Personally I normally have my evening meal around 7:30pm or if going out we aim to be at the restaurant about 8pm.

There is nothing wrong with eating at anytime that suits you although I would suggest giving yourself about half an hour before trying to go to bed after a big meal, just from a comfort issue. Digestively it doesn't bother the body if you eat at 5:30 or 10:30 as it still takes 24hrs to fully digest our meals.

Tea is abeverage of which to partake between 3 and 4pm, Dinner should be eaten between 7-8pm any later and it will not be digested properly as you sleep. But then again if you get wasacked then nothing beats a chips or a kebab at 2 in the morning!

Well i am not posh but the time most people eat is around 6.30pm -7.30pm. This gives them a chance to come home from work, wash and change have a glass of whatever it is they drink and then have their tea/dinner/supper.
We eat later due to work commitments around 8-9pm and no it is not bad to eat that late it is what your body is used to.

Not really. I suppose it depends what time you get home from work and what time you go to bed. We eat at about 7pm. The children eat at 5. We are only able to eat together at weekends. Some people would say that's bad, but it can't be helped.

Whenever I get a chance. I generally eat 2 dinners- one when I get home about 5.30-6.00, another later at night (circa 8-9 o'clock.) I had the most insatiable appetite last night and ended up eating another tea at about 11.30pm! You know, this question has just made me realise I haven't eaten meat for at least a week... just chance, I'm not a veggie!

I try not to eat after 7pm (8 at a push) as it keeps me awake if I eat later. So nights when I stay at work late just to talk to you buggers, I end up going hungry :o(

PS. it's only bad if you going to bed about 10! As you are on here till near midnight you're probably OK.

You shouldn't really eat after 8pm as this is typically when you become the most inactive during the day and you don't burn anything off.

My partner forces me to eat the second we step in the door from work because he's always 'starving'. I'd have to cook myself if I wanted to wait til later and that would just be unthinkable!

It's not so good if you go to bed soon after as you won't have had time to properly digest your food. Can cause nightmares I've heard!

I always try to have my tea by 7pm. Too hungry to hold out much later than that anyway!
