Wow. That is pretty bad, my friend. As hard as anyone could possibly try, no one can exceed your misfortune. I'm related to Woodrow Wilson (former president of the US) but I don't have strong feelings either way about that.
Camilla Parker Bowles? Euughhh

So what if you are?
Anyone who traces their ancestry back far enough will encounter someone who is hateful. That's just the way it goes.
For every slimeball relation you find, there are literally hundreds of others who are a mix of good people and people you know nothing about.
The total number of all types of ancestors will be huge, if you have any luck finding them. Paying attention to who you like or don't like will be a waste of time because you'll constantly be taking the moral inventories of thousands of people.
You worry too much.
As far as similar stories go, I connect to a branch in Quebec which has a high probability of being linked to French royal families as far back as Charlemagne and further.
You want to talk about detestable ancestors, just take a closer look at how those royals behaved. Beneath the veneer of religion and ambivalent leadership, they were probably the most evil people in history. Charlemagne is a good example. The great promoter of literacy never learned to read himself - but the punishment he exacted upon Saxons for illiteracy was death. He massacred thousands of them.
Naturally, Saxons had no access to Frankish literature.
The other important thing to remember about those early leaders of the "Holy" Roman Empire is that they took leadership lessons from their immediate predecessors - the Romans.
Case closed.

Bush is the only nice guy in the bunch, bummer.
In my case, most of the folks I'm related to aren't overly fond of me. With your far-distant cousins, so what? I may have had (there's a few breaks and fuzzy places in the chain) a distant relative that killed a king--and got rewarded for it, and he may have been more related to the king than to the family name, if you get my drift. Everyone has folks that have had less than stellar moments, welcome to the human race.

Oh yes, indeed. We all have the proverbial "skeletons in the closet." LOL One part of my ancestral line is Forbes. James Alexander Forbes was the British vice-consulate in Yerba Buena (San Francisco), CA. He was meaner than a riled snake.

I haven't found that I am related to people I don't like, but I have found out information about relatives that make me wish I wasn't related to them. (Some of my relatives are crazy.)

It's better than finding out that you are related to someone you slept with.
