I made chilli last night with Alarm chilli mix. I only put half of what it called for red pepper but its too hot. I added extra tomato sauce and pinto beans. Does anyone have any ideas that would help it not be sooo hot or what do to with the leftovers?

Serving over pasta, rice, or potatoes will help as your using less chili for the meal.

You can also try to remove some of the oil that makes it spicy. Place the chili on the stove covered and bring it up to a simmer. Reduce the heat to a very low setting and let sit covered for at least 15 to 30 minutes. Don't stir it. An oil should begin to collect at the top. Use a ladel to remove the oil and disgard.

This is what I do with my left over chili.
I get a cornbread mix and get it ready to bake. Then I get casserole dish and place the leftover chili and sprinkle shredded cheese on top and then pour in the cornbread mixture. Place in preheated oven 350 degrees and bake for about 30 to 35 minutes. It has helped when I have made my chili spicy.
and the kids loved it.

I always make extra so I can fix chili dogs for the kids the next night. You could also buy some Frito's and make a Frito chili pie or like some others have said & put it on baked potatoes or rice, or make some macaroni to stir in and make a chili mac dinner. My kids have even been known to put it on ramen noodles!!!

Huevos Rancheros for breakfast, baby!

Heat up a flour tortilla and place it flat on a plate. Reheat the chili and scoop some onto the tortilla, garnish with shreaded cheese. Place a fried egg on top of it all.

Makes a great breakfast, if you like spicy food that early.

add some sour cream, or double cream, or yogurt, or coconut milk, it should help with the heat. Serve it with some jacket potatoes. Or get some soft tortillas, roll the mince up inside it,lay the rolls in a casserole dish in a single layer, pour over some cheese sauce and grated cheese then bake in the oven.

Aloha From Down Unda!

Just add some diced slices of bread [or toast], a little extra water, a pat or two of butter, mushrooms, maybe some 'instant' noodles, remix & reheat.
