If you met a girl you really like and after you've known her for a while, you find out she can't have kids. Would you still pursue the relationship like any other knowing if u got married u'd never have any biological kids together?

I would like to have a hysterectomy (remove my uterus). I'm 20 and have no kids.

I would like to have one because it continues to land me in the hospital at least 6 times a year and i already have scar tissue which means if i did get pregnant i would probably have a tubal pregnancy which can be deadly.

Just curious. Why do you want to have a hysterectomy? It's one thing if you need one for medical reasons. Having a hysterectomy is so permanent. Is this an attempt at a permanent form of birthcontrol? If that is the case, I would seriously seek counseling to help you through this decision. At 20 years old, you are still growing as a person. You may have a completely different opinion on kids at 32 years than your opinion at 20 years. When you are in your 20s few people have kids. When you are in your early 30s, all of your friends are having kids and baby showers. You are bombarded with this and women I know that are unable to have kids have a difficult time at this period in their lives.

To answer your question, I would still marry a woman if she couldn't have kids. There are so many options these days...like adoption, having somebody else carry the baby, etc.. And in some cases fertility doctors can get around what used to be big issues. If a woman were 'the woman for me', that's not going to change because of the fertility issue. We wold find a way.

When I was 20 I would have given anything to meet a woman such as yourself. Now that I am older, women that have no kids, or don’t want them are easy to find. When I was younger it was nearly impossible. Just mentioning that I do not want children, or the fact that I had a vasectomy at a young age (22), would send them running for the hills.

I think your long term dating potential will improve after you get a hysterectomy. Just be honest about it.

Having dated several women with Hysterectomies, I can assure you that your sex drive will improve.

Why would you want to have a hysterectomy? Don't you know what that is going to do to you? It is a painful surgery, not to mention it will throw your hormones all out of whack. You will be thrown into menopause, probably get a mustache etc! If you don't ever want kids, that is one thing, get your tubes tied, but a full blown hysterectomy is insane. If a man really loves YOU he won't care if you can have kids or not, there is always adoption. However, if he KNOWS you voluntarily had a hysterectomy, he will probably think you have a screw loose.

Ok , you are going to have a hard time to find a doctor that is going to do that unless you are sick. I am 26 and have 2 kids and still can't find a doctor to do it. They say that you might change your mind later and want to have kids or in my case try for a boy since I have 2 girls. But, if you are sick do what you have to do to get yourself better, nothing is wrong with adopting.

that is a question that warrents different answers. some people are ok with or without kids. others are just as adamant as having them as some are about not. i am like you, i don't want them-never had and if i met someone who was dead-set about having a family, it would definitely be deal-breaker for me. i hope you are getting the hysterectomy because you need to and not to avoid having kids. good luck.

Why would you LIKE to have a hysterectomy?? Most people only have one if they absolutely have to...

Especially at 20, you'll need estrogen treatment for decades...

If I really fell for her, I'd still hang around but that's a big obstacle to overcome, many guys want to be a biological father someday...

Some people really want to have kids, you don't. If your "perfect man" wanted kids, then you would have a conflict. Maybe he would stick around and give up his dream of kids (and maybe learn to resent you because you took that away from him) or maybe he would leave you for someone else that could give him kids. Maybe you would compromise by adopting.

Good question. An adoption would help everyone. The child gets loving parents and you guys get to have a kid!
