Multiply the 5 and the 2 that are outside the parentheses
10(x-2) = 3
Do distributive property
10x-20 = 3
Add 20
10x = 23
Divide by 10
x = 23/10 or 2 3/10

5(x-2)2=3 = (5x-10)*2=3
10x-20=3
add 20 to each side (canceling out the -20 on the left side)
10x=23
solve for x by dividing 10x and 23 by 10 each
x=23/10
x=2.3
Proof:
5*(2.3-2)*2= 5*2*(0.3)
= 10*0.3
= 3

If the "2" outside the parentheses is supposed to mean "squared" (and I'm guessing it is), then all of the above answers are incorrect.
IF that "2" does indeed represent "squared", then the answer is 2.774597, (or 1.225403)
You should really learn how to solve these math problems yourself. Looks like you ask a lot of math questions LOL.

5(x-2)2=3
distribute the 5 so then you have (5x-10)2=3
then simplify= 5x-20=3
then do the same to one side that you do to the other
so you come up with 3 divided by 15 which is .2
so your answer is 0.2

Im amazed there can be so many different answers to 1 question that is maths. Is the second two a big one or a superscripted one as in squared?

x-2=3/10
