For instance, I know the eating of pork is forbidden...does that mean products like Jello, which has gelatin in it are also forbidden?

I understand the basics...Do not eat predators, etc...but what about the products made from Pork or with Vanilla...for instance...what about a Vanilla Latte from Starbucks or a bag of Gummy Worms (which contain Gelatin...which can or usually is, derived from Pork...) in other words, how far do you go to make sure that what you are eating is "Halal"...or how far do you go to avoid the "harram"?

Yeah u are right, in fact all this is also forbidden in the Bible but Christians nor Catholic follow Bible.

Muslims we eat the same that jews, what they call kosher we call it halal...

The difference is that there are more banned things for jews than for muslims. And that most of jews are not stick with what they are suppose to do.

Its a matter of commitment I guess.
