Do we have a bad phone line? Is it internal or external?
Its almost like you can't hear the person at all...you have to press your ear very hard against it to actaully hear a voice.

You have the phone upside down, blondie. ZING! Sorry.....I had to do that. How long have you had the cordless phone? If it is old, just get a new one. For some reason, cordless phones really degrade over time, especially if it is not high-end. Do you have another phone in the house where you can hear clearly. If not, you are going to make me go back to the blonde thing.

have you tried a corded phone on the line? the lines are only guaranteed to work with corded phones. if it works ok with a corded phone, then your cordless phone is bad.(get rid of it). If you have the same problem with a corded telephone, then try a different jack in your house. if problem still exists then go outside to your network interface box, its usually by the electric meter(could be basement or garage) . open box with screw driver, on inside cover will be diagram that shows you where to find your testing jack. pull the plug out of the testing jack & plug in a regular corded telephone. make a phone call if it works ok from there.. then you have a problem inside the house.. if you cant hear & have volume problems there then its an outside phone line problem, call the phone company at this point.
