Hey Mr. Johnson,

You are going to have a difficult time in Genealogy research because the name is so common. At least with your Surname. Remember you have your mother's side too. If it is SMITH, you will really have a difficult time, but if it is less common, you should be able to do ok.

Also, if you use Vital records, you will find all the surnames you can in 3 generations, and some will be easy to research (most likely). Good luck.
