Get the wides. When you straighten make sure you part your hair into sections. This way you will get a more sleek look.

I have thick hair but my hairdresser always uses the thin ones. I believe the wide ones will straighten a bit quicker (in the sense that you are straightening larger sections at once) but apparently the thinner ones keep the style longer and give hair more shine. However, I imagine that all GHD's are good!

They say the mediums are for medium to long hair and that wides are for thick and curly hair. If your hair isn't thick or curly, go for the mediums.
I have thick, curly hair and have the wides on order. You are supposed to be able to create flicks and curls with them aswell.
Check out

for their current specials and a bit more info. They have free delivery and have a few ghd combos at cheaper than store bought prices.

Definately the Wides. They straighten quicker and I also find my hair stays straight and doesn't frizzball throughout the day. The medium ones are better for straightening the top of the hair as they get nearer the scalp. However if I were you I would go for the wides.

The majority of hairdressers use medium sized irons because they can be used to curl, flick out or just straighten the hair. My advice would most definitely be the medium sized straighteners because if you change your hair style even to a shortish style you will be able to get value out of the straighteners as they are so experience. Good luck with your choice.

I have a medium plated one it was the best purchase I have ever made!!! With the medium plate ones you can curl and create flicks not too sure if you would be able to create the same effect with a larger plate model.

I have longish hair and i have medium straighteners, i don't think i could manage with the wider ones. But my sister has hair just passed shoulder length and she uses the wider ones, but i don't think they are quite as easy to style with.

If you're intending to use them on a fringe then smaller ones might better. but if you're hair is quite think then I'd go with bigger ones.
