The truth is it isn't any one thing I've done, it is an outward sign of an inward change. What good I do, I do from the Spirit of God in me. (Lest I myself might boast.)

There isn't enough room on the internet for all the things the Lord has done for me.

I apologize but I do not know the exact book and verse or if this scripture is verbatum.

"I say to you, love your enemy because even the sinner can love those who love him back"

This is extremely difficult and although I am not a fan of Muslims, the other day I gave a complete stranger, an Iraqi woman, a ride to the store b/c she was walking in the pooring rain. Not that big of a deal....I know. But it's a start. :)

"Pray for those who mean to harm you"

All the time, I pray for our enemies out in the Middle East. I pray for their salvation and forgiveness from God and that God would soften their hearts and allow Christ into them.

I have loved my wife and children in a self sacrifical manner (Eph 5)

I have served as a deacon, helping others in need through everything from getting the kid of a single mother medicne at 3 in the morning to visiting people in the hostpital (Acts 6)

I could probably go on, but you get the picture.

Verse: "Do what thou wilt, but harm none."

How I apply it:

I go off clubbing once a week to dance, but I don't drive home drunk, as that would possibly hurt myself or others.

I sit on the computer in the morning and chat on 360 and answer questions on Yahoo. However, I time myself so that I can get things done for the family during the day as well, so that they aren't neglected.

I spend money on myself and my family, but first donate 10% of my pay to local charities.

Tu Nga,
I don't know what it is you are in to, but I do wonder about that. Your question seems to suck the life and joy out of anything that I thought of saying. Maybe it's just me!

I don't place myself high, neither will you get me to tell you something I did to justify myself. I'm writing this so that you can know that I am a person who doesn't need to impress you.

Anything that I might have done that was selfless, was something that came from God, and He gets the glory, not me.

There is no such thing as selfless love. All love is for the want of something in return. Why do we have romantic love? Because we want to be loved back. Why do we have Agape? Because we think that there are rewards that God will bestow on us if we love Him and do His work. Even in the most seemingly selfless circumstances where we are helping out our fellow man, are we not just doing it so that we can feel better about ourselves?

I'm not loving selflessly-that is however the ultimate goal that I aspire to. A lifetime of clinging to materialist delusions can't be washed away overnight.

I'm too tired right now to look up the verse, but Jesus ways that it's no big gesture of love, to love your own family. Even the tax collecters and robbers do that. He said the same thing about charity. Anyone will help their own family members. But Jesus told us to love our neighbors as ourselves. To help our neighbors as ourselves. So I believe it. I'll help anybody who wants help. But alot of times, people are suspicious when a stranger offers them help. I can't control that. All I can do is offer my help. That is my duty. The rest is out of my hands. I do voulnteer work with blind children who have multiple handicapps. Almost all of them have cerebral palsy too, so they can't see me, can't communicate with me verbally, and because of the cerebral palsy, can
barely even move their bodies. It's really depressing, but I put my own feelings aside, because I'm there to help them, not me. All I can really do for them is give them love, but what's more important than that, anyway?
