Well, sex is always better choice, but after you are done with sex then depression is still there. So to enjoy sex you need to get rid of the depression.
I did suffer from depression for some time and was prescribed "Lexapro", it made it worse!
After 20 days using this medication I decided that only I can fight depression. So I got more involved in my life and things that happen around me, I signed up for some voluntary work, I visit friends and family more often and I do some extra chores around the house...(Painted kitchen, cleaned garage, planted flowers....by the way, growing flowers was the best therapy for depression, so try that. It is cheap and efficient!)

I'm getting out of a standard post-partum, work burnout depression and I finally am thinking again a lot about sex. Glad to be myself again! Sex is a lot more fun then depression.

If the correct medications are being prescribed, there is no need to make a choice.
