Peace is commonly understood to mean the absence of hostilities. Other definitions include freedom from disputes, harmonious relations and the absence of mental stress or anxiety, as the meaning of the word changes with context. However, there are others who would say that the absence of hostilities would refer to only those hostilities which are evident and that true peace only derives from the mind of each individual.
Peace may refer specifically to an agreement concluded to end a war, or to a lack of external warfare, or to a period when a country's armies are not fighting enemies. It can also refer more generally to quietude, such as that common at night or in remote areas, allowing for sleep or meditation. Peace can be an emotion or internal state. And finally, peace can be any combination of these definitions.

I am sure peace has a different meaning for everyone, however this is how I feel. Peace is a calm, wonderful feeling of safety. There is no prejudice, everyone would respect each other. No one would be scared because we look, talk or do things different from one another. We would no longer need weapons to hurt each other and we would not judge. We as people of the Earth would stop see ourselves as different and realize that we are all the same underneath. We are all made of flesh and blood, we all hurt and we must make a promise to stop hurting one another. If that can happen then we will have peace.

The concept of peace ranks among the most controversial in our time. Peace undoubtedly carries a positive connotation; almost nobody admits to opposing peace; world peace is widely seen as one of the most noble goals of humanity. Various groups, however, differ sharply about what peace entails, how best to achieve it, and even if peace is truly possible.

It is almost like the feeling you get when you watch a toddler play all by himself or when you watch a sunset, all by yourself.
Peace is knowing that all's well in my life.
Peace is rejoicing in the knowledge that you are safe, protected and cared for by the Creator of the Universe Himself as He is your father, and your creator alike.

well, it's technically the absence or war. Lack of fighting. I believe it is simply nonexistent. A state of mind only- because humans will never create a worl of real peace unfortunately.
