it means when a man gets married he needs be a man get a job to support his family, and to stand on his own with his wife, honor his parents like the bible says but family decissions should be made between him and his wife, and he should love her with his whole heart willing to lay down his life for her, love her unconditionally and not be out fooling around with other women. he makes a commitment that she (his wife) will be his one and only true love and helpmate. and not expect his mom and dad to make all of his decissions. he should take up house away from his parents and he and his wife should raise their family together, with God's help.

It means that you should no longer constantly depend on our parents as we did when we were kids. That the husband and wife should be able to support themselves finacially, phsically, spriritually. Not totally saying that if you need help you shouldn't go to your parents but now you have to depend more on each other and God.
