The first thing you MUST do is stop using heat and/or chemicals on your hair - no matter what your hair type is (e.g.curly, straight, relaxed, etc.). Next, find a local hairdresser to assess the damage. If you are having trouble finding one, try asking for a referral from women who you see in your community with great hair! It's one of the best ways to find a great hair professional!

Once you find your hairdresser, they will tell you what their plan will be to get you back on track. More than likely this will include a serious trimming and/or cut, deep conditioning the hair, and carefully administering any heat or chemicals (e.g. straighteners, color, etc) if you still want them.

For home maintenance, try products from the Pantene Restoratives line, Biolage, Paul Labreque, Ojon or Phyto, which are all excellent and worth the money.

You could buy some shampoo for 'Extremely Broken & Dry Hair'.
That should do the trick.

You might also consider taking zinc tablets - 200mg per day. I told my best friend that my nails broke a lot and she said that she'd had the same trouble; had asked her doctor's advice; and he'd recommended this dosage of zinc (which is far in excess of what you get in regular vitamin + mineral tablets) and it really did make a difference to the strength of my nails and my hair (which are pretty much composed of the same stuff).

Can't remember where I bought it but I did eventually find some through Google.

the only way to deal with it is to have it cut, it doesnt all need to be cut, it can be razored. That way if you want to keep it longer, it could be layered, no amount of creams are gonna work, its best to get it cut and then keep it well conditioned start off from a fresh base, instead of trying to fix something thats already broken, if you pop into a hair dresser they will tell you the same thing for free.

there is a product called Nioxin you can only get it from salons and wholesalers (or ebay!) it is marketed for fine/ thinning hair but it is a fantastic quality shampoos and conditioner, i use it as my hair gets very dry and straw like. i would probably recommend the cleanser, moisture and strength (conditioner) and or the scalp therapy (conditioning scalp treatment) probably for chemically enhanced hair rather than normal. i also use a serum called zero frizz it's only cheap but i find it's much better than a lot of the others on the market (you can get it from most chemists) i just put it on while my hair is wet and it makes it lovely and soft and shiney.

hope this has helped

I sell a product called Nutra Renu. You can find it on e-bay from many sellers. It is the best thing for a woman's damaged hair. People we have tested the product on cannot believe the results. The results are pretty much immediate when you follow the directions properly. I am not trying to sell you anything, but if you are interested check out the suppliers on e-bay.

the best thing to do is cut all the dead hair off. then when you shampoo your hair just rub the shampoo into the roots to clean them. and when you condition start from the bottom so your roots do not get oily. wash your hair every other day so you keep some of the natural oils, that are good for your hair. try to stay away from using heat on your hair when ever you can. and make sure you trim your hair every 6 weeks. good luck! hope this helps.

Go to "Lush" either in the high street or online. They have the most fantastic range of hair stuff. I used Retread conditioner when mine was bad and it worked a treat. The other one to try is Aussie 3 minute miracle which you can get in any chemist or supermarket.

Get a conditioning treatment (eg, sunsilk, loreal etc). They're really no more expensive than shampoo. You only have to wash your hair and then slop this stuff on and leave it for 20 mins, then rince off. And then when you're done this, go to the hair dressers and get your split ends cut off. It's amazing how different your hair will be
