Ladies, a few months ago I had the scare. You know, the pregnancy scare. I didn't tell him, because I figured there was no use until I knew for sure. And I didn't know how he would react. Eventually, it all proved negative, (even though I went through a month of torture, ugh!) I did tell him afterward.

So, my question is - if you had 'The Scare' would you tell him you were late or would you wait to know for sure?

It depends. If you're married, I think you should be open and share it with him. If you're not, I would make sure first and only ever say something if you are pregnant. Hopefully, if you aren't married you would be taking precautions to protect yourself and your partner.

Well I have gone through similar scares with my boyfriend. We have been together for 5 years and are planing on getting married so he knows pretty much immediately. Whether I say something is wrong or not he knows and then I have to tell him. I do try to keep it to myself in the first few days so he doesn't have to worry.... but in all honesty after I tell him I feel so much better because I know that I am not alone in it and he comforts me. When ever one of us is feeling scared or insecure the other picks that person up. I think it is important that you do not try to bare it alone. Especially if it is a person you are in a relationship in. This doesn't happen much though... birth control works wonders.

wait wait wait!
unless you were kinda trying or you knew you would both want the baby...
but no need to have HUGE DRAMA when you dont even know yet.
i dont even think i would tell him after the scare and i found out it was negative. if it was a "scare" then its something you must have not wanted to happen..make it a learning experience and get on THE PILL :)

I was like you and waited but only because I did not want to get his hopes up because we were trying to have a baby.. I waited until I was sure...

I am no girl, but I have experience with "The Scare". I once dated this girl who was pregnant every time she was late (she wished for it). One such time, I gave her the test myself and it was positive. We sat down with her parents and told them that we thought she was pregnant.........her pops was a Marine Gunny and I thought I was gonna die ! A few days later her mom took her to the doctor for a real test, it turned out negative (thank GOD).

You should wait. Why stress me out too? I mean women like to stress over everything anyway. That might cause you to find things out about him that you might not want to know. He might run away. or start acting like a ahole.

I guess I'd tell him I was late so it wouldn't be a complet shock if it came back postive...I'm bad at keeping secrets too so he'd probably notice something was wrong. lol

Oh I would tell him. There is no reason to be scared alone when it takes two to tango. Make him be worried too.

well....it depends. If it was somebody who you could imagine having kids with at some point, then yes. If not, then a resounding no.
