As someone now living in Thailand I think very little will change in the short-term, but the events of last week will probably have a positive impact on the future of the country in the mid and long-term.
Thaskin was, generally speaking, deeply unpopular in Bangkok, although he was far more popular in other parts of the country. His attempts to cling on to power were, in my opinion, holding the country back economically. I agree he did good for the country in the past, but his time at the helm had come to an end. A change was needed.
My concern though it the time it will now taken for the democratic process to be re-established. The new leaders are talking about elections in one-year. That's too long - and I don't think others countries will view that as particularly helpful.
On a day-to-day basis in Bangkok at least, nothing has changed at all. If anything this is renewed optimism and energy about the future.

I guess and hope not a major changement. We'll also have to wait and see what the upcoming new government will be like. The tourist spots won't be touched as they would loose a fortune if these places would be affected by any drastic change.

Nothing too major i suppose - it's still growing as a nation, like many other countries around it.

Personally, i would hope that the people's lives not suffer, and standards would not dip.

Also - i hope that the 'scenery' would not be destroyed (meaning, no war please).
