My mother does not always care for my husband, but she generally keeps it to herself. There was one occasion she didn't and I stopped speaking to her for about 3 months. In that 3 months my husband and I moved to another town, another house, another phone number and my mother had no idea what was going on with us at all. Now, out of respect for me she keeps her feelings for my husband under very tight control and does not offer an opinion unless I ask for it.

I wouldn't be the one having to "Handle it". My Mother would have to in all the alone time she would have from choosing to not like my husband because I am always going to chose my husband 1st over everyone else!

Well my mother wouldn't live with us so it shouldn't really matter. Your mother didn't marry your husband, you did so her opinion doesn't count. How do you feel about your husband? Do you love him? Does he treat you right? Take care of you? If you answered yes to all these then your mother should be made known that he's a wonderful husband and if she doesn't like him after that, she should keep it to herself.

My mom and husband HATE each other my mom has even slapped him in the face after he told her to shut the f*** up. I stopped talking to her for about a year. Then when she showed up at my work and asked me to forgive her I told her that she had to show him respect or we couldn't talk anymore. So now they do have respect for each other but only talk when they have to. Just keep in mind that you married your husband and not your mother.

well first of all you have to ask yourself what did your husband do to make your mother dislike him. but if your mom is anything like my mom your husband didnt have to do anything except just be married to you. i wouldnt worry about it unless it is causing a problem between you and your husband. if it is causing a problem between you and him and if you want to stay married to him and you love him you need to stick with him. take my advice if you truly believe that he is your forver life partner and you dont want anybody else to come between you stick up for him with your mom. on the other hand if he has done something to make her dislike him you need to find out what that was. when you find out get them to sit down together and have a talk and get everything out in the open for the sake of your marriage. dont let things get too far he may get tired and do what my husband did and find another woman to get comfort from.

It would bother me, but it shouldnt make a difference to your relationship with your husband. She will have to work around it as it is her problem and not yours. Should she act hostile towards him then I would exclude her from all invitations as that would be extremely rude on her part. Its your life and future, she has had hers. Good luck
