Actually, I don't understand the reasoning behind NOT letting them in. I question why not? Do they even have a good reason? What's the point in doing your time in jail and being "reformed" and turned back into society if they are just going to label you and hold you back?

I know I put that all in question form but they are rhetorical questions.

I believe that sentencing felons to military duty is a fabulous idea.
Particularly, those who have committed violent crimes, I believe should have the honor of being on the very front lines. we would all love to see prisoners become rehabilitated but in reality most of the guests of the state are repeat offenders (obviously they weren't rehabilitated on their first visit) We as taxpayers are housing, clothing and feeding these inmates who produce nothing, not even adopting a lifestyle consistent with the law abiding populus. I believe the military would prove to be a very effective form of rehabilitation and also give felons the chance to give back to society.

My dad was a Command Sergeant Major and twice a month he would go to the hearing held twice a month in the town closest to the base and he and the judge would offer the boys jail or the Army. Over 28 years some of the boys would get back into trouble and in up in Leavenworth but more would end up staying clean and having a family and career. I think we are going to have to have this option or go back to the draft!

Where do you think your felon come from, their are felon aready in the military but the military has gone soft and need to go back to the old school. The current military is about stress cards and paper work. the old military was about sweat, blood and tears. Most solider in there now are force or by chose. They need to do another draft.

Felons in the military would be a disaster. The blame for their crimes anywhere in the world would be laid at the feet of the entire U.S.A.

They would too easily sell out to the enemy for any profit to themselves.

They would kill, rob, rape their own troops.

Wrong again: gays are not allowed in the military. Don't your remember 'don't ask, don't tell. I personally don't have enough knowledge to understand the why or why not of this position so I won't even go there.

Felons in the military...I have said that for a long time...They already knwo how to fight, how to use weapons...I say give them guns, ammo, grenades and let them loose...guarantee NO ONE would start anythig after daling with a batllion of psychotic homocidal maniacs. Oh, wait we already have people like that in the military...what was I thinking...

A felon, if they qualify, can get their record expunged and then join the military. If they do not qualify to have their record expunged, there is probably a reason why they should not be in the military.
Pretty simple how our laws work,,, don't ya think????

Why not. If they have rehabilitated and what to serve their country...go for it....they should have to be cleared psychologically and have a limit on the jobs they can choose though. The military would deff discipline them.
