I suggest the 12 tribes are the 12 different nature's of Man,
These 12 natures cover the human spectrum, completing the tribe, making it whole, lacking no human element....

the bible is clear in showing that they were actual tribes, and this is not open to interpretation. you Christians are an odd bunch.

The 12 tribes were for the 12 sons of Jacob.
Then Levi became a priest- so his tribe (as priests) were to be split up and taken in by the other 11 tribes. Joseph doesn't has a tribe of his own, but his two sons received their own tribes, bringing the total back up to 12.

Prophet MuHammad is the brother in Prophethood of Prophet Jesus.
None of the Prophets ever claimed to be sons of God because that is unbeffitting to attribute to God.
The one who rejects the message of all Prophets (from Adam to MuHammad)- which is Islaam, will lose on Judgement Day.
