my cat is constantly sitting on top of my wardrobe cuddling up to an afro chest wig that i got at a 70s bar when drunk.
should i tell him gently that its not healthy and suggest he finds himself a girlfriend?

people, PLEASE! he is not having a sexual relationship with the chest wig, just cuddling it! and yes he is neutered, and if I may say so, a darn fine looking cat who could have his pick of the lady cats in the neighbourhood

If it's not something the cat could chew up and choke on, then let him have it! If you don't want it torn up, then you must put it where the cat can't get to it. Cats love to cuddle up with soft items, so if he can't have the wig, give him a replacement. Put it on top of the wardrobe where he will be sure to find it! Something that has your scent on it would be good.

Is he fixed? Then you can suggest he find a girl cat to hang with but don't be surprised if he does not take you up on it. I saw a National Geographic special where two Tigers were mating and after Mr. Tiger was getting up Ms. Tiger turned and ***** slapped him one across the muzzle. You could tell it smarted. He roared at her. I don't know if small cat ladies are that choosy but let him rest.

Nah, as long as he's happy it doesn't matter - and on the plus at least with a 70's chest wig you don't have to worry about being inundated by billions of baby kitty'fros!

Ahhh bless moggie - just you leave him alone to snuggle up to afro. My cat has her own teddy - she stole it of my daughter and walks around with it in her mouth like a baby.
Let cat keep the afro - he could be attracted to worse you know, least it wont bring fleas into the house.

Just like most men he's living in a fantasy world, don't smash his dream. On the other hand, he's probably appreciative of the fact that he's got a girl cat who doesn't whine, meow or throw a cat fit (LOL). Too funny, you made my morning.

it hasn't got anything to do with sex. It is your cat remembering being a kitten. If it paws at the wig it is reenacting getting milk from it's mother when it was younger.

If you have no plans to use such an odd accessory yourself, why not pass it on to the cat as a hand-me-down? Sounds like true love to me.
Now if you can just find a fur friend to fall in love with those plaid leisure suits.... ;-)

This is a fine thing to happen. I wish I was in love with a wig too.
